ITWBN meet up and 1st Birthday and I have some NEWS......

1:49 PM

Hello lovelies,

Here's a #ealthrowbackthursday post... Myself and Aggie recently went to another fun ITWBN meet up which was also the ITWBN first birthday organised by the two powerhouses of the group Sinead HERE and Saibh HERE who always do such a fantastic job!

The meet up took place in the amazing G hotel here in Galway-and was jam packed with bloggers, speakers, pop up shops and inspiration...

Our first speaker on the day was the lovely Sinead Burke from Minnie Melange who I have to say was my fave!! She told us all about how she started up blogging and gave us a peep into her vast fashion knowledge-if you haven't already looked her up she's Minnie melange on all her social media and her blog is HERE

Then we had Dee from castle print who gave us insight into branding-castle print do all the printing for ITWBN and the events and everything always looks perfect-visit them HERE also lots of lovely bloggers have gotten their business cards from Castle Print and they are very nice.

Next up was our break where we were treated to yummy treats thanks to the staff at the G-including hot food and tasty bakes!

The break also gave us a chance to peep around the pop up shops and some of our faves from before were there debenhams, body shop, cotton face....

These Versace perfumes were part of the Debenhams display and also we have samples to test!

After our break we had Wayne Denner-the digital ninja, who I also really enjoyed both as an avid internet user and as a parent. He told us all about our digital footprint and how important it is to be careful what you put out on the net-check out his webiste HERE

Karen from Karora rounded up the speakers on the day and what I loved most about her talk was all about her start up as a young mom-very inspiring and incredibly hard working lady! We got some Karora samples in our goody bag-I have never tried it so keep an eye out for a little review soon.... check out the products HERE. I also loved her tan....

Here's myself and Aggie with the man himself-the Galway Player-check his blog out HERE. During the break the Player and also Tierney talks HERE provided us with some great entertainment!

AND finally I have some news to share.... I am pregnant with baby #3 and here I am with my little bump on show at the event with the yummy mummy and previous guest blogger here on #eal Melissa from lipstick and louboutins HERE

Thanks for visiting and expect some pregnancy type blog posts soon....

#TanningThursday Cocoa Brown Tough Stuff Review

6:13 AM

Hello Lovelies!!

Ok, so I think most of you already know how beyond excited I was to find out that Cocoa Brown was coming to the States! I had been seeing all of my wonderful Irish bloggy pals giving these tanning products rave reviews, including my partner in crime Aideen (LOL) who did a little review last summer of the Lovely Legs Moisturizer, along with the Tough Stuff scrub (Read her review HERE) . So you know when I found out it had landed stateside I just HAD to get my hands on some Cocoa Brown!

So to kick off my Cocoa Brown product reviews I have a very special pal, Aideen’s lovely sister Aggie here with me today to help review the Cocoa Brown Tough Stuff exfoliating scrub. AREN’T YOU EXCITED!!! I AM!!!

This was the very first Cocoa Brown product I cracked open from the order I placed online with Ricky’s NYC. As I think most of you already know I struggle with dry skin during the fall and winter months, so I’m always hunting for new scrubs and creams to help soothe and care for my skin during these cold months. So first impressions… The packaging is ADORBS, just like all of the products in the Cocoa Brown range. The girly hot pink packaging just makes me smile every time I see it sitting on my bathroom counter. The scrub is also a lovely pink shade! Which I thought was such a nice touch. So on to the actual scrub. It’s a very fine exfoliating scrub, which I tend to prefer over chunkier salt or sugar scrubs. Often times I feel like I waste a lot of product with those types of exfoliating scrubs, but the Tough Stuff scrub has a nice fine consistency that is both effective on removing dead skin and stubborn fake tan. Yet, it feels nice against your skin, not too rough. I have been using the scrub several times a week for about the past month, and I have noticed that my skin feels much softer and accepts self tanning products much more evenly (but more on that in my next review .)

I would certainly recommend this product as a great exfoliator, even if you are not someone who self tans. It’s a great scrub to keep on hand in your shower, and did I mention it is super affordable?! It retails for $9.99 in the U.S. Now lets here what Miss. Aggie has to say about this FAB scrub!!

Aggie's Review:

"Ok I have to admit I am a die-hard exfoliation gloves kinda gal, or at least I was! Before trying Tough Stuff I found that scrubs didn't really do the trick for removing tan or smoothing the skin but there's something about the super-fine scrub that is incredibly effective. I used it both to prep the skin for fake tan and remove it afterward and it was ideal in both cases, especially removing those horrible patchy bits that cling to your knees or elbows!

I also loved that the product is the trademark CB pink & it has a lovely clean fragrance that doesn't overwhelm. Overall a very effective product that managed to convert me from the gloves!"

If you live in the U.S. and are interested in getting your hands on some Cocoa Brown pop on over to Ricky's NYC for a look.

Happy Exfoliating!!

The ITWBN February meet up-Part 1: venue and speakers

10:58 AM

Hello lovelies and first off sorry for the bit of a break I had taken there-I haven't been feeling very well.... Today I'm throwing it back to an ITWBN meet up!! #ealthrowbackthursday

Back in February we headed to the Radisson SAS hotel in Galway and were welcomed by a lovely pink reception manned by friendly staff who were offering refreshments before we were whisked into the event room. It was great to see some familiar faces and also lots of new ones.

We were shown where our seats were and there on our seats were some jam PACKED goody bags and our name badges. Also there were treats in the middle of the table-like chocolate covered strawberries, sweets.....

First up the lovely Saibh let us know that unfortunately Sinead wouldn't be able to make it to the event as her grandmother had passed away. We were all saddened to hear the news and sorry that Sinead wouldn't get to enjoy the fruits of her labour.

Saibh took over the proceedings and did and excellent job!!

So.... Onto the speakers: Maricka Burke from OMiG HERE was up first to tell us all about SEO and some Google features that I personally hadn't heard of before but have looked into since.

Next was Siobhán from letzmakeup who is one of Ireland's top YouTube make up artists! It was very cool to hear from her and to see how she has made a living thru her YouTube channel.... I was well impressed and you can subscribe to her lovely channel HERE

Then came lunch time and the lovely peeps at the Radisson did not disappoint-we were treated to delicious mini burgers, chips, mini spring rolls, cocktail sausages, chicken goujons and believe me when I say they were all soooooooo good!!!

Then we had a quick intro from Richard about his exciting new business beautifi.com where you can now book all you hair and beauty appointments online.

The always charming Galway Player then gave us a Twitter lesson we will not forget.... He also has started up an Instagram account which also focuses on men's fashion and lifestyle you should check that out-his username is galwayplayer #savethepuppy

Last but by no means least was the fabulous Kate from Cocoa brown HERE-telling us about her job and also about the blogger/companies relationship and how to go about dealing with companies which was great to hear from a companies point of view.

I am going to do another post soon with all the deets about the pop up shops that were there on the day too... There's just too much to cram into this one post!!

The goody bag was UNREAL and I'm going to break it down over a few posts with Aggie as each product is post worthy :) also I'm sending some over to Emily so she can join in the fun,

We have just booked our tickets for the next meet up in May and it sounds like another not to be missed day out,

Counting down the days already,

Aideen x
