Hello lovelies!

Another mouth watering post here today as we got to review some delicious handmade chocolates made here in Ireland. We had the absolute pleasure of tasting three of the bars available from Áines handmade chocolate available HERE and they also have a Facebook page HERE

Here is a lovely introduction to the company taken from their impressive 'about us' section on the website:

Áine Hand Made Chocolate has been making deliciously smooth and creamy handmade Irish chocolate since 1999. The company was founded by Ann Rudden, a Master Chocolatier and a woman with a passion for her art. Her vision was to create chocolate as it should be - mouth watering, melt-in-the-mouth magic that is made with only the purest, freshest, natural ingredients.Today, Áine Hand Made Chocolate employs a team who shares that passion for producing heavenly hand made chocolate. Only the freshest butter and cream makes it into one of our delicious Truffles, Irish Crème Liquers or Chocolate Bars to name but a few.

Our gorgeous chocolate is sold directly to consumers as well as to a range of fine food stores, the gift market and the corporate market. Our chocolate is shipped not only around Ireland but around the world.
Áine Hand Made Chocolate has won 21 Great Taste Awards - the fine food 'Oscars' - including 8 gold medals and has also been endorsed by food guru Rick Stein and the influential Bridgestone Guide.

And here is the selection we were sent to try! €2.50 for 100g

Aideen:

So first impression of the bars from Áines handmade chocolates was that the packaging is really nice and I just could not wait to try them. As you know I am not a huge dark chocolate lover but when I saw the two flavours of the dark chocolate in the pack, seville orange and zesty lime, I could not wait to try some. I love orange chocolate anything and the seville orange bar was so tasty with a fun pop of orange flavour!! I don't think I have had any lime chocolate before so this was the one I was most looking forward to giving a try and it did not disappoint. It reminds me of the flavour of a loop the loop ice lolly...delicious. And I love love love milk chocolate so the crisp honeycomb was another winner-it was hard to resist eating the full bar before packing half off to Emily :). Áines handmade chocolates are well worth a visit for any chocolate lover and would make a fabulous gift-they even have a hamper section on the site where you can get all kinds of hampers for any occasion:

Also on the site you can see all the other delicious bars, truffles, wedding favors and even chocolate sauce! Such a fabulous selection-the wild raspberry and flaked coconut milk chocolate bars caught my eye while browsing the site mmmmm......

Emily:

Ok, so where to begin… let me start by saying that I was SUPER excited to review these chocolates! They all sounded so yummy, especially the dark varieties that we received.

Zesty Lime (Dark)
Like Aideen I have never tried a lime chocolate before so this was the first bar I broke into. The dark chocolate is absolutely delicious, it has a very smooth texture and the bitterness of the dark chocolate is balanced perfectly with a refreshing burst of lime flavor. It is certainly one to try if you have not already, in my opinion it is a great “summer chocolate” because it is so refreshing!

Seville Orange (Dark)

Now, of course all of these chocolates smell amazing, but the Seville Orange in particular just made my mouth water the second I took it out of the wrapper! Orange and dark chocolate is one of my favorite flavor combos, so this one was my top favorite out of the three we sampled. Like the lime chocolate this bar had the perfect balance between chocolate and citrus, leaving a really invigorating after-taste in your mouth.

Crisp Honeycomb (Milk)

This bar is just yummy! The milk chocolate just melts in your mouth and the sweet crisp throughout the bar gave it a great texture. I actually enjoyed this bar with a nice cup of hot coffee, and it was the perfect evening treat after work!

Thanks so much to everyone at Áines handmade chocolates for sending on the yummy chocolate to try-another winner here at #eal HQ, have you tried Áines chocolate? Let us know which ones you have tried if you have and if not, what are you waiting for?!
